What happens when you try to reset your password? Error message(s)?

If you forgot the Apple ID (iCloud) password, enter the Apple (iCloud) ID, and click Forgot Password. See if you can get a Rescue or Notification email option if necessary. Link to contact Apple Support at the end of the 2nd article.

Apple ID - Manage

If you have 2 Factor Authentication enabled, if you can't recover the password using the steps above, you will need to use Account Recovery. The Recovery Process is an automated process and the length of time it takes can vary a lot. Apple ID Support can only answer your questions. They can't intervene in or speed up the process. The article below has some suggestions to shorten the time the process takes.

If you have changed your password, have you followed the steps in this article on all devices/computers?

Hi there!

If your account is two-factor authenticated, it is important that you have access to these when trying to reset the password

1. A trusted Apple device where your Apple ID is currently signed in. This will allow you to change the password in Settings if you are using an iOS device.

2. A trusted phone number where the verification codes are sent to. You can use the Apple Support app on another eligible device to reset the password there.

Steps are found in this article : If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support

In the absence of both or if you no longer have access to the trusted phone numbet, your best option is to request an account recovery on iForgot.apple.com which may take some time to complete. If you can verify a credit card that you are using in Apple, that can help shorten the wait time.

Hope this helps.
