When recording audio how to stop and start again and have that come out sounding like there was no break?

I am SUPER new to GarageBand, I am recording audio ..voice only, and when I stop and start again you can hear a click where I had stopped.. I try to edit it and slide over to overlap and you can still hear it.. is there a trick?..what am I doing wrong?

THanks in advance for any help!!

Practice. You need to use the audio editing functions to trim out the click and then join the two regions together.
