how do I delete an album from my photos? I have deleted the photos from the album, but cannot delete the album

Sounds like you have an empty album. If you have not already done so, please try this:

1. Open the Photos app.
2. Tap "Albums" at the bottom of the screen.
3. Tap the "See All" option in the top right hand corner.
4. Tap "Edit" in the top right hand corner of the screen.
5. Tap the red icon with the "-" (minus) sign.
6. Then select "Delete Album"
