Adding a debit card to apple wallet in the UK

My daughter was excited to get her debit card when she turned 11, only to find that she can’t add it to her apple wallet until she’s 13……. Surely if the bank are happy for her to have one then apple should be. Now she needs to take both her phone and her card out with her with twice the chance of losing something or having it stolen! Please tell me I’ve been misinformed?

When you add a card to Apple Wallet and use it for purchases you are utilizing Apple Pay. Apple Pay is just a way to replace your physical card.

Please read this support page: Set up Apple Pay – Apple Support (UK).

"If you're under the age of 13, Apple Pay isn't available and you can't add a card in the Wallet app. Age varies by country or region."
