The iPad Magic Keyboard does not require charging and therefore does not hold a charge. It is actually powered by the iPad. There is a three pin connector on the back of your iPad and the Magic Keyboard connects to it and draws power. When you plug in your Magic Keyboard to the charger, then it is used a pass through and the iPad gets charged. There is no battery on the Magic Keyboard for an iPad.
