Video is choppy in Quicktime, plays normal in VLC

One of my video files freezes every other second when played in Quicktime. It sort of looks like a stop motion video (which it's not). However, it plays just fine in VLC, so I'm wondering if there's something I can do to make it work in Quicktime, since Quicktime is my preferred player?

Hello BrownFriedRice,

It sounds like you're having trouble playing a video in Quicktime.

If this is only happening with one video, check out the information here: If an audio or video file doesn't play on Mac.

If this happens with all videos, try playing videos in another user account on your Mac. This helps to isolate the cause to an account-specific issue. If you don't have another account set up, you can create a test account using the steps here: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac

Take care.
