How can I turn off cloud music library? I am trying to sync my music library across devices, but I receive a message saying 'To sync music from this Mac, turn off Cloud Music Library'.
I don't really understand the difference between cloud and icloud; are they old and new names for the same thing?

See Turn on Sync Library with Apple Music - Apple Support and turn it off if you wish, however the general idea if you have Apple Music (the subscription) or iTunes Match is that you enable Sync Library in both your computer and devices, then your device always has access to your entire iCloud Music Library without you needing to sync to update it. You can stream content on the device or download it for offline use, which means you don't need to pick and choose what to sync to the device.

Thanks for the reply and the help tt2. I think I understand what is going on now, and the songs and playlists etc sync across my devices.
The wording of the message I get on the screen (To sync music from this Mac, turn off Cloud Music Library) indicates to me that music would not sync…… but it does. I am still not really clear about this.

You're not the first to be confused by that message. Essentially you're already syncing over the air, and you cannot sync over USB at the same time. One method or the other.
