I have included the following link that may help resolve your sound issue on your iPad:

Sometimes a 'Force Restart' can also resolve issues with iPads and the following link explains how to do this:

Also check that it is not connected to other Bluetooth devices e.g headphones and the following link will explain in more detail about bluetooth devices in an iPad:
