I have locked my iphone XR by forgetting the passcode so i decided to reset it through itunes and now i cant set it up its just a black screen with iphone unavailable on it . can i have any suggestions?

If none of the above works then press the connect phone to iTunes PC or Mac (make sure latest version) then on the phone press Volume Down + Power key together and keep it pressed until you find the cable and computer icon displayed on the screen. Then your iTunes should prompt for restore of the phone.
