Can you flash the contents of a CELL in NUMBERS ?
Hi DocPaul,
"have the value (say 1234, go from light display to bright display."
That can be done in Numbers with Conditional Highlighting rules applies to the cell that is to be highlighted.
'Light display to bright display' isn't, to my current knowledge, a named possibility, but you can make changes in the fill colour of a cell, the text colour of the value in that cell, and the weight or style of the text in that cell depending on the contents of the cell compares to a fixed value or compared to the contents on another cell.
Here's a sample intended to make the value 1234 stand out in a table full of random values:
The conditional highlighting button is in the Cell section of the format Inspector. Select the cells to be highlighted, then click the Format brush to open the Inspector. Click the Cell tab in the Inspector panel, then the Condiotional Highlighting button at the bottom of the inspector pane.
Click Add rule, then compose the rule and the highlighting to be done when the rule tests 'true'.
Regards,
Barry

Hi Paul,
I am not sure what you mean by "flash".
You can use Conditional Highlighting to make certain cells stand out.
More information on your overall aim may lead to a solution.
Regards,
Ian.
By "FLASH", I mean to have the value (say 1234, go from light display to bright display.
