administering ios single app mode from 2 different macbooks
Hi,
For deployment in a museum setting, we are making use of the option in apple configurator to lock an ipad/ios device into 'single app mode'. This prohibits the user from exiting the kiosk app that runs in single app mode, and works great.
Single app mode can only be stopped through the Mac with which it was enabled, as it should.
However, I can't seem to find anywhere whether this dependency is hardware-specific (administration of single app mode works with one Mac only) or Apple-ID-dependent (disabling single app mode should work with any Mac signed in to the correct Apple ID).
Ideally, we want the single app mode on these ipads to be configurable from more than one Mac. The motivation is that, in case this one 'master' Mac with which single app was started would suddenly break, we don't want the end up with many bricked ipads that can't be accessed anymore.
Is it possible to control single app mode with more than one MacOS device? If yes, what would be the requirements for this?
Any help is appreciated!
