How do I reset or retrieve it the 4 digit passcode to erase my old iphone?

I'm upgrading my iphone and have transferred all successfully. Now I'm attempting to erase everything from my old 8Plus but it wants a 4 digit passcode which I don't know. How do I reset or retrieve it?

iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 14

It should be asking for your screen unlock passcode normally unless you have restrictions in place in Screen Time with a passcode, in which case it will require that passcode instead.

If you don't know the restrictions / Screen Time passcode, then the only way to erase the iPhone is to do so through iTunes/Finder on a computer. See here: link-> If you forgot your iPhone passcode - Apple Support
