I have a MacBook Air with the new OS Monterey. I connected a blu ray drive from Verbatim. I can play music CD's but not blu ray. Do I need a special App for this or a special configuration?

I have a Blu-Ray player and you need special software to play Blu-Ray dvd's. I use "AnyMP4 Mac Blu-ray player" app. Blu-Ray requires a special decoder to work.

It works very good with AnyMp4, so I decided too buy the lifetime license.

Is the drive Blu Ray capable?
I was trying another blu ray. Now I’ve got a different error message: This Blu-Ray Disc need’s a library to decode AACS. There is no such library on this system.
You can use free versions but need to be OK with ads. I tried several different apps and the one I use was the best as the others had some glitches in operating. A one time charge is OK if you use it often. Look at this review:
You don't need anything special to play them then. Maybe try a different media player; I like VLC Player.
I installed today the VLC Player without errors. Unfortunately it still doesn’t work. When I start the blu ray I get a error message that BLC couldn’t start the blu ray and I can see for details in the error queue??? I don’t know where to look for the error queue!?😟
Yes, it is. It should play blu ray in 4K.
