i cannot remember my Ipad passcode

My Ipad locked me out for forgetting my passcode. I plugged my Ipad to my computer, but it is still requiring me to remember my forgotten passcode.

Turn the iPad off before connecting it to the computer and follow the instructions in If you forgot the passcode on your iPad, or your iPad is disabled - Apple Support
