How to stop any and all texts sent from email addresses ?

This problem is not new for every iPhone user. Every now and than we all receive many spam, annoying, filthy text messages especially coming from email addresses.

Phone Carriers or phone makers must do something to help out. Is there a way to stop them coming from any and all email addresses or there is no solution so just live with ?

Good for AT&T customers. But, what I don't understand is why such functionality(block all SMS/MMS messages that originate from email addresses) is not built into IOS/iMessage and can turn ON/OFF in Settings ?

One can create zillion Gmail or similar email addresses and start sending filthy, annoying group message to a random series of phone numbers. One should be able to control in setting of phone to allow or not. Even on sender's side, if valid phone number is attached to the email address used than the message app must not allow to send message and message app while sending should convert into the phone number while sending.

If you have AT&T they have a process in place to block all SMS/MMS messages that originate from email addresses.

Call AT&T customer service (do NOT go into an AT&T store and ask them to do this, they can't do it in store).

Ask the rep to look up Article *446389 in their system.

That explains what they have to do to block these at their SMS gateway.

Other carriers should be able to do this as well, but whether they will or not is hit or miss.
