My company recently purchased some iPads and now a staff member has come back to me with an error message when attempting to unzip a zip file.
"The operation couldn't be completed. Inapporpriate file type or format"
All our client docs are zipped before uploading so need to be unzipped to be viewed. When I download a zip from the internet to test I can open that with no issues at all.
Any suggestions?

Is that user the only one experiencing the problem? How much control does the company have over the devices? Can the user make configuration changes? Have you asked other users if they can download and unzip files? I do not have any issues on my iPad, but I have a 2018 iPad Pro 11 with iPadOS 15.0.2.
9th gen iPad which they all are.
I've advised the staff member to contact the tech support for the company that handles the website as I've tested and proven the issue doesn't occur on other zip files.

To be able to tell if it is problem with one device or the entire lot, you would need to test one of the other devices. What kind of device were you using when you successfully handled a zip file?
They are company devices so we have as much control as we need. However I've just discovered the website the files are hosted on isn't ours (I thought it was). As for other users downloading the file. All the iPads were setup at the same time and are identical so no we haven't tried it but I can't see it being and different.
