watch restarts when start workout tracking

how do I work out if a hardware issue? watch restarts (goes blank, then apple logo) regularly when start to record runs ... appears to relate to GPS as starts tracking location.

Have tried restarting watch; restarting iPhone; reloading applications; disabling applications; re-pairing watch and iPhone; updating watch and iPhone to latest version; with cellular enable/disabled; ... issue remains - 1/3 times the watch restarts, then usually works ok when try again. Watch is an early 2021 series 6 running sw version 7.6.1 (18U70) and still under warranty.

It's potentially a hardware issue, but no obvious way to check as do not see any crash logs or other diagnostics recorded for the incidents ... though did see an attempt to record a diagnostic log "WatchMap WatchKit Extension.cpu_resource.." which content was "null"

The quickest way to get the problem resolved is to make an appointment at the Genius Bar in an Apple Store near you and let them look at it. If that is not possible, use the online Apple Support. Either way:
