Is there a way to change the year of imported CD albums without affecting the songs.
I was just wondering about this because it has been bugging me a little.
I have been importing a load of CDs to my iTunes lately and they have been well although sometimes the albums get imported without the correct year listed (when it clearly has it shown on the CD info itself before I import them) this has led me to add the correct year in and it usually affects all of the songs as a result, which I am perfectly fine with but I am wondering if only the year of the album could be affected instead of the songs.
I have some examples of what I mean by this, as when I was importing Guns N' Roses Greatest Hits album the year was listed as 2004 (when it was released) and yet when the album finished importing it didn't show the year, instead it said 1994 based off one of the songs release date so I changed it to 2004 and it affected all of the songs, same thing happened with my Queen Greatest Hits album, since that was released in 1981 and said it on the album info before importing yet afterwards it didn't have the year (said 1980 based off one of the songs) until I had to add it in myself and my Dreamboats and Petticoats compilation was this too, being released in 2007 and said so on the album info before import, and yet afterwards it didn't have the year, so I had to add it in instead since the date was incorrect and yet it affected all of the songs.
I'm not heavily bothered about this although I would like this to stop happening most times when I import my CDs, and I would like to know if there is a way to change the album date to the correct one or add the correct one without affecting all of the songs. I highly doubt that is even possible but if I could have an answer then that would be heavily appreciated, thanks.
