Why pictures on iPhone show the wrong date?

Surely it can’t be that difficult to get the correct date when you take a picture from your iPhone? And store that date, no matter what iPhone, so why has my phone decided that 15% approx of my last photos library is how showing 2020 date from when the pic was taken? Which isn’t correct?

Turn on Set Automatically in Settings > General > Date & Time. This automatically sets your date and time based on your time zone. If there's an available time zone update, your device lets you know. Allow your device to use its current location to determine the correct time zone.
