No, nothing changes on the old phone after transferring data. If you no longer need the contents on the old phone go to Settings/General/Reset - Erase all content & Settings.


But it would be wise to back up the old phone to your computer or iCloud before doing so, for extra safety→How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support
