iOS 14.4.1 for ipad

Since update iPad can’t slide to power off and ignores sliding up to close apps.

Pushed and held home screen button while pushing and holding power button until Apple logo appeared, that did the trick problem resolved. Thanks for the help

A forced-restart will often resolve an isolated software issue:

On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
On other iPad models: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

Attempted force restart by tap up volume and tap down volume and then press and hold power button. No help.
