I am often asked to send people's contact information via email. Ideally I would be able to copy and paste the contact card into an email .
I may be missing something but this seems to be very difficult. The only suggestion I found is to export of v card. This is a multi step process. Is there a quicker way to do this?

Just drag the contact card (name from list) into the Mail message. It will attach the card.
You can also ctrl-click on the contact name and "Share" the card via one of the various services, including Mail.

i don't know how you are trying, but on my mac i can drag the contact from the sidebar of apple contacts and drop it into the email window.
