Apple Music app with old Mac Book Pro.

Have an old Mac Book Pro Mid 2009 with OS X Yosemite ver 10.10.5. Have iTunes 12.8.1.3. Would like to move library from iTunes to "Apple Music app". Don't see a way to download "Apple Music app" and move ITunes library to "Apple Music app". Any help would be apreciated.

Hi,

You can't use the Music app on your computer. This is only available on macOS Catalina or Big Sur. You will continue to use iTunes on your computer if you want to subscribe to iTunes Match or Apple Music.

Hello rosanne292,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

We understand from your post that you would like to add your iTunes library to your Apple Music library. To combine your iTunes library with Apple Music turn iCloud Music Library. This article is written for a Windows PC, but the same steps apply for iTunes on Mac running OS X Yosemite.

Use iCloud Music Library on PC - Apple Support

Once iCloud Music Library is enabled, your music from your iTunes library should sync to your Music app on your iPhone. Let us know how it goes.

Best Regards.
