mac mini M1 5.1 audio via HDMI

Hello,is possible to have 5.1 audio with a Mac Mini via HDMI ?I only have stereo 2ch output at the moment...any tip to suggest ?

What app are you using and is it configured properly?

Have you checked your settings in Applications->Utilities->Audio Midi Setup

so that either encoded or multichannel output is enabled?

Is the source material actually 5.1? If the source material is only

2 channel stereo, that is all you will get.

Multichannel won’t be an option if OP’s gear isn’t compatible.
