How to upgrade to latest MacOS ?

Current version of MacOS on my iMac is Sierra version 10.12.6. Need to upgrade it to MacOS 10.14 but it doesn't show up in Software Updates... Please suggest, how can I update the MacOS on my iMac

If it is a 5K 27" iMac you can upgrade to Catalina, which will soon be replaced by Big Sur. Open System Preferences - Software Update and update it. However before doing ANY major updates ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS backup the computer, just in case there is a problem.
