iPhone screen going black randomly

whenever I Turn the device into landscape( on its side) like I’m watching a video or attending my online class or playing a game, the screen blacks out then comes back or if I hit the home Button it will come back. It’s almost like it goes into sleep mode it doesn’t turn off just turns black. And also it’s a new iPhone I got it only a month ago.

Thanks for reaching out in Apple Support Communities! If we understand correctly, your iPhone screen goes black when changing screen orientation, but comes back on when pressing the Home button.

Do you have the latest software installed?

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If you have the latest update, make sure your apps are also up-to-date.

Update apps or use automatic downloads - Apple Support
