Blinking question mark

I was in MacOS recovery and when I tried to quit I got stuck on a Gray blinking folder with a black question mark on it

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

That means it can't find the startup volume.

Try an NVRAM reset to help it out. You can also try to use the Startup Disk program from the Apple menu in Recovery.
