iPad is sending messages from my email instead my phone number?

Every time I send messages from my ipad it keeps sending from my email instead of my phone number I have a IPhone 7 Plus and my iPad is 7th generation both are Up to date both are synced properly (well apparently not) but I have followed all steps not sure what I am missing?

Have you checked your Messages settings? There you can chose how new conversations are started.


Go to Settings -> Messages -> Send & Receive -> Start new conversations from.

You must explicitly enable Text Message Forwarding for your iPad on your iPhone.


On your iPhone:

Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding - set to ON - and explicitly enable your iPad from the list of devices.


Also ensure that Messages in iCloud is enabled on both your iPhone and iPad:

Settings > [Your Name / AppleID] > Messages - set to ON
