how to reset iphone 6s with no access to the passcode

i was given an iphone 6s and need to reset it but have no access to the passcode. i have tried the way suggested and it still says it is disabled. how can i reset this device?

These are the instructions (pay attention to the specific gestures to perform when connecting it to a computer):--> If you forgot the passcode on your iPhone, or your iPhone is disabled
