Can I transfer data from iPad Air 2 to new iPad Pro 2020 and keep data already on new iPad pro?

you just make a backup of the air2 and restore it on the pro

Thank you.I was trying to see if I could keep a program data on the new iPad and still do a restore from a backup. Thank you for the response though.
