activity monitor loses process bar

Soon after upgrading to 10.15.5, Activity Monitor has lost the bar that lists processes -- there is now only one column of processes shown. This is in my main account. When logged into an alternative account, Activity Monitor is OK. How do I get the columns back?

Reset Activity Monitor display columns to default.

Quit Activity Monitor

Then in Finder > Go > Goto Folder

copy & paste the following line, then press Enter

    ~/library/preferences/com.apple.ActivityMonitor.plist

then move that file to trash, and empty trash, then restart.
