iOS 13.5 Update & Mac OS Backup

In the past iOS versions have required the Mac OS to be upgraded to be able to Backup my iPhone 8. Example I am using Mac OS Mojave 10.14.6 and DO NOT want to upgrade to Catalina 10.15 whatever. But if you upgrade your iPhone iOS (13.5) does it require an Update to the Mac OS to Backup the iPhone 8. It is never really clear until you update your iOS and attempt to backup your iPhone and find out you need to upgrade your Mac OS to backup your iPhone. That is : when you try to backup (through iTunes in Mojave) it gives you a message that you need to upgrade your Mac OS to backup iPhone.

I hope you understand what I am saying here/

Thank you

If this is similar to the message you are receiving:

...you should install it to update your iTunes software update capabilities. Installing the "update," will not "Upgrade" your macOS to Catalina.
