Hi, moshe130,
The CompressorKit error has been reported frequently over the years. There have been more reports lately. Sometimes it can be cured by booting up in Safe Mode (see Finder help menu for instructions) and, after everything loads, immediately shut down and reboot in normal mode.
Also, sometimes deleting preferences can cure it. To delete preferences do the following:
To delete preferences, open iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and selecting to delete iMovie in the
box that appears. iMovie will open in a new library. Reopen your old library to get back to your projects.
Recent posters have reported that the issue can be cured by updating iMovie to most current version. If you are running High Sierra or earlier, you won't be able to update iMovie to current version unless you can upgrade to at least Mojave 10.14.6. Check this link to see if your computer specs meet the requirements for upgrading to Mojave, plus instructions on how to install:

If you cannot upgrade to Mojave, you can update iMovie to the highest version that your present Mac OS will run by doing the following procedure:
To update/redownload iMovie 10, drag your iMovie 10 app from the Applications folder into the trash, but do not empty the
trash. (You can skip that step if you had iMovie 10 on your computer before, but deleted it.) Sign in to the app store and open your purchases folder by clicking on your name at the bottom of the app store side bar. You will see
your purchases displayed, including iMovie 10. Redownload/update iMovie from there. If not successful, drag your present iMovie app out of the trash (if you moved it there) and return it to the Applications folder.
Hopefully one of the above procedures will solve your problem. If you have time, please post back with your results, as it might help others who are dealing with the CompressorKit error problem.

CORRECTION: In the deleting preferences procedure I erroneously said to delete iMovie in the box that appears. I meant to say "delete preferences in the box that appears". Sorry for the slip-up.
