MacOS Mojave- having issues downloading

I am attempting to install macOS Mojave on my MacBook Pro, but when i go to the app store and try to install it, I get an error message that says something like, "This copy of macOS Mojave is damaged and can't be used to install macOS." Can anyone help me fix this issue?

Hey there kiwicat2013,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. I understand you’re having issues updating to macOS Mojave due to the file being damaged. I’ll be happy to help with this.

‘In certain circumstances, such as when an installer is damaged, you'll see an alert that says the application can't be verified and may have been corrupted or tampered with during downloading. Or it says that the package was signed with a certificate that has expired and may not be authentic.

  1. Delete the installer. If it's a macOS installer, it may be in your Applications folder.
  2. Check the date and time on your Mac to make sure they're set correctly.
  3. Download a new copy of the installer. If the new installer is also affected, please contact the maker of the software for help.’
