creating email account fails after account deleted

I deleted the account then tried to recreate the account. Account creation fails saying the account exists.

This usually means you're trying to set up an account with matching eMail address and mail servers. So for example if you have John.smith@yahoo.com and imap.mail.yahoo.com set up and try to set up another one for John.smith@yahoo.com and imap.mail.yahoo.com.

BUT you should still be able to set up John.smith@yahoo.com on map.mail.xyz.com as it's a difference server.

Are you sure you deleted the old account and didn't just disable it?

Correct.. Although I deleted the account and it no longer shows up in the interface parts of the account are still there. When I try to create a new accoount it won't let me because other parts of the account are still there.

Sorry but I'm struggling to fully understand this. You appear to be saying you deleted the account but parts of it remained.

How do you know some bits remained? Are you able to provide us with a screenshot which shows this?

I can't think of any reason why you couldn't delete the account fully and then create a new one.

Taking a screenshot involves the same process whether you have a MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac, or another Mac model. Capturing the entire screen can be accomplished by holding Command + Shift + 3.

Screenshots are saved to the Desktop as PNG files with a filename in the format "Screen Shot YYYY-MM-DD at H.MM.SS XM".

If you only want to capture a portion of your screen push Command + Shift + 4. You can then highlight the area you want to capture and a screenshot will be saved.

Hmm.  Is rachors.com (incoming and outgoing mail servers) using the same account as the Rachors (Main and notes) account?  In that case, that’s your duplication there. 

Also, are you sure your mail server is supposed to be rachors.com?

A duplicate is where the email address and mail servers match.  So if you attempt to set up two accounts with those details, it will fail.

... but it sounds like you didn’t actually delete the old account fully but rather blanked out part of it. Is that right?

I have an imac and a macbook pro using the same mail account. I own the server behind rachors.com so yes.. I'm sure.
