Want to upgrade from High Sierra to Catalina

I am not able to upgrade my os from High Sierra to Catalina. Every time it shows error says " Downloading Installer information to the target volume failed." The hardware required are same with my mac book pro. How do I upgrade my os?

First, you need to fix the target volume as it's struggling to place the installer on it. The error message suggests that it has a problem. Try running Disk First Aid on your internal device.
