Media through Apple Watch on airpods

I’ve recently bought some AirPods pro’s and I have an Apple Watch series 5, yet once my AirPods are connected to my watch, the media refuses to cooperate. I listen to music through Apple Music and I listen to podcasts through apples podcast app, however when I try to play them through my watch in the gym rather than having my phone with me, the media plays for roughly 5 seconds, the sound isn’t very crisp and the media slows down, after about 5 seconds it just cuts out but the watch says its still playing. The AirPods work flawlessly with my iphone and iPad and it’s just annoying me how I can’t use them with my watch. Was contemplating going into the store but just wanted to know if anyone else is having this issue

Thank you all in advance

Josh

As to streaming over cel, I've never had much luck with that.

Sometimes it is like the stream may get hung up or it maybe too big.

I prefer to load the podcasts directly on my watch.

Listen to Apple Podcasts

podcasts that you subscribe to sync to your Apple Watch. But you can
