I recently imported video into FCPX from an external hard drive and all of the dates are modified dates. If you select creation date in FCPX, it remains the modified date. This is clearly a bug or am I missing something?

If I use a utility (File Date Changer 5) to change the modified date to the creation date (both the same and equal the creation date) and then import, I get the creation date.

I am not seeing this. Are you referring the created date and modified date, as seen in the Finder? Or somewhere else?
I look at a file with different creation and modification dates in the Finder, import to FCP X and the 'Content Created' agrees with the 'Date Created' in the Finder, not 'Date Modified'.
