follow these steps

  1. hook the device to a computer
  2. backup the device
  3. shut down the device
  4. power on the device while holding the home button
  5. the computer will get a message in iTunes that says the device is not working properly
  6. press restore
  7. when the restore finishes iTunes will ask you if you want to restore it from a backup or start fresh

passcode removed

If you would like to know how this works I am happy to tell you
