I got a game from steam but then I uninstalled it but its still in Launchpad and the X doesnt show up when I go into that mode. PS already saw a post like this but it wasn't for Mac OS Catalina

Ah! OK - Launch the App concerned and it should go onto the Dock.
Right click the icon on the Dock and see what 'Options' you have. Either put it in the Trash or Drag it upwards and let it go 'POP"!
Then go back into Launchpad and drag the icon to the Trash.

I had the same problem as you, but I fixed it with these steps (the app wasn't from the Mac App Store):
