iPhotos organization options are terrible

Why on earth do the photos in albums show up on the camera roll as well? I'm trying to organize my photos and I have no idea which ones I've put in albums because they stay there. Please fix this?!

Or just give us back photo control using itunes. I like that my photos are automatically backed up to the cloud in case I am brutally murdered or loose my phone. But there is no need to use the cloud to control what photos I put on there from old archives. Say if I want a portfolio of my art, cat pictures, or a selection of backgrounds to use as wallpaper. sheesh. I know you are phasing out itunes, so hopefully this will be addressed.

All photos are always in the camera roll. You are not moving them to an album.

Albums are not containers to move photos to. They are tags or labels to organize photos.

You are thinking with a folder mindset, when Photos is not folder based, but tag/laebl based.

I'm having a similar problem. Pls expand on the difference between Folders and Tags/Labels.

Also, in populating an Album of say, a person named Mary, would you say selecting all Mary photos from her photo in People or from a Smart album with Mary as the sort name is appropriate selection technique. If not, can you recommend a method that works easily compared to having to select individual pictures that Mary appears in from the master Photos album. Thanks. Ted

I don't tag my photos so they are searchable, but I do understand what he's saying that albums function as a kind of tag. My issue is that there needs to be a separate folder for all images vs camera roll images. It would be weird if a photo print in your pocket showed up on a strip of film you were shooting in your film camera, but that's what it's doing here basically. I want to carry around an album of photos in my pocket/phone that is separate from the photos I take with that phone that are automatically backed up to the cloud. The only reason to synch these two things seems to take up icloud space and make people pay $ for more gigs.
