...will an airpod case make an "initail" bluetooth setup to Iphone with only one ear piece in its case ?

That would explain my difficulty … I was using 2 , ( a 1st generation and a 2nd generation) on one phone, no problem until I reset-phone and lost the ability to connect my1st generation ( due to one ear piece lost ) , thanks
