Question

iPad 2 is on wifi but internet won't load

So I have an ipad 2 that I'm trying to reset and I have to remove the find my ipad.

The ipad 2 is connected to my wifi but it will not load anything on the internet or receive the signal to disable the find my ipad.

I have the latest software that's available for the ipad 2.

I've tried doing this through itunes on my computer, but it won't reset/wipe this ipad until the find my ipad is disabled and I can't seem to do that until this wifi issue is resolved.

Try the suggestions in this link, which says for iPhone but is the same steps for iPad: If you can't activate your iPhone - Apple Support

If this doesn't help, then schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar.

Hmm, I did that but beyond find my ipad, where would I go to remove the ipad from the icloud account?

Under My Devices it doesn't show the iPad 2, perhaps because it hasn't been online in so long?

How can I get the iPad 2 to actually connect on the wifi it's already on? Perhaps there's a firewall or something the ipad has turned on?

Yes I am the original owner. My son logged in and I can't get him & his info logged out.

What would make this not connect to the wifi, even though it shows it's connected to the wifi?

I'm just trying to receive the disable signal for Find my iPad so I can fully wipe this and throw it out.

You can go to www.icloud.com and pull up your devices and delete this device from your list of devices. Then instead of throwing it out, take it to your Apple Store and ask them to recycle it for you.

I've tried that, because it hasn't been online in forever & still has Find my ipad enabled, it won't delete it from the list of devices.

What other options are there?

Should I just take it to apple as is and tell them to recycle it? Will they actually wipe the data off first? That's my main concern.

Try to go into your iCloud account in another personal computer, and remove your iPad 2 from your iCloud account.

Are you the original owner, or bought it from somebody? The iPad 2 is practically ancient, obsolete. Everybody here in Apple forums, are users of Apple products.
