What is the default password for the encrypted backup? iTunes didn't ask for the password when I was taking the backup

There is no default password.


When you set the backup to be encrypted the very first time, iTunes asks you to set a password for the encryption. You cannot set an encrypted backup without setting up a password for it. This password is something entirely in your control, and has no connection to anything else.


If you forgot the password, you can reset the password, and set up a new one for future backups, but older backups encrypted using the old password will be inaccessible.
