You need an Office 365 subscription (or company based account) to use MS Office apps on an iPad Pro (MS requirements, not Apple). If you have a company account or a personal Office 365 subscription, you just download the MS Office apps from the App Store, launch them, sign into your subscription account and off you go (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, SharePoint, OneDrive etc are all separate app downloads in the App Store and the apps themselves are free).
