Magic Mouse cursor keeps jumping

Magic Mouse cursor keeps jumping.

Cleaned the lens and checked it’s free from lint. Problem persists across all surfaces. Unpairing and re-pairing has no effect. Mouse model is A1657, Lightning connector from 2021, realistically might it be time for a new one? macOS Tahoe 26.2, USB mouse works ok, but so does the Magic Keyboard (perhaps not a true comparator with a mouse) so the Bluetooth connection to the Mac Mini is ok. Scrolling with the mouse is ok, it’s just the cursor which jumps and lags, having been so precise for 4 years.
