is cloud an iCloud the same thing? I keep getting emails from cloud saying they are deleting my pictures and my files. Is this a scam or should I go ahead and pay the amount that they’re asking for?

That's a scam. Any legitimate charges would be automatically applied to the payment method you have on file for the iTunes Store system instead of through individual requests.
The term "cloud" can reference any company providing cloud storage services, not just Apple.
