Siri won't make any calls, says 'Can't find it in your contacts'
on and off for 3 years - ask siri to call a number and the response is - Can't find it in you contacts no matter if it is in my contacts
iPhone 16 Pro, iOS 26

Funny enough I used SIRI to resolve an issue today. I asked what my phone number was and 2 numbers appeared.
Have you got all Contacts in the same place ?

This does not appear to be the same issue. Please start your own thread for your own question.

Is this intermittent issues with all contacts, intermittent issues with specific contacts, or some other misbehavior?
Same environment (vehicle, office, outside), or across different environments?
Are the pronunciations of the names involved potentially unusual? When set to English, Siri can have difficulty with Spanish pronunciations of names, for instance.
It's random, happens in the greater SF Bay Area from Healdsburg to San Jose. Didn't notice in New York. It can be any contact or outside request. When I'm with my friend and it is happening to her I can usually get mine to work and visa versa. The names are simple: Call AppleCare, call Big John's market, etc.. Nothing complicated. All in English.
In the beginning I would put my request in my contacts but got the same answer: Can't find AppleCare in your contacts. When I give the number directly (I know AppleCare by memory) it calls the number.
Do you actually check to see if it is currently in your contacts? Might Siri be misunderstanding what you are asking?
If you literally ask Siri to call a number specifically, and not the name of a contact: “Siri, call 555-555-5555” it shouldn’t matter whether or not it is in your contacts.
