How do I remove the middle search bar in Safari on MacBook Air M4?

I have a MacBook Air M4 using the sequoia 15 and every time I go to use safari, I get a spotlight/search bar right in the middle of my screen that makes it difficult to read whatever I've pulled up. I want to eliminate the long box used to search topics.

If it is the Spotlight search bar, then it appears & disappears with Command + Space (default configuration). It can also disappear with the ESC button.

It is possible you may have a stuck key or bad keyboard, or perhaps it is being activated from a Trackpad gesture (I'm not sure what that may be).

It may also help to see a screenshot just in case the search bar is something else.
