“Immediately” became the only option for “Require Passcode”, IOS 26.2

Hello all!

IOS 26.2

iPhone 17

I have added a new pair of glasses to my Face ID, and now I have only “Immediately” option for “Require Passcode”. I don’t know how it happened. Seems like a bug to me.

Earlier today I had all other options for “Require Passcode” (1 hour etc.). How can I get them back?

I tried to reboot the phone, turn off Stolen Device Protection but it didn't help.

Please help. I would be very grateful.

On my end, I’m not asked for a passcode after not unlocking my iPhone (iOS 26.2) for a few hours.

You’ll be occasionally asked to enter your iPhone passcode to unlock the device but this occurs only after 48 hours of inactivity (it’s a built-in security feature) or when you restart your iPhone. In this case, you should see a message of the type “A passcode is required to unlock…”.

Do you see such a message when required to enter a passcode after an hour?

I mean I was able to use a passcode only to unlock my phone and all options were available in “Require Passcode“; I chose to request my password in 1 hour there. I have not used Face ID to unlock my phone (i used my password for it; that was very convenient to me with 1 hour option) but Face ID was active for other purposes (for example, Passwords autofill).

Now when all options except for “Immediately” in “Require Passcode“ are gone for some unknown reason, I started to use Face ID to unlock my phone. So, my phone asks me to unlock it with the password (not Face ID) sometimes for security purposes, yeah.

if you want control over that timeout, shut off Face ID.
